Office Orthopedics for the Pediatric Provider

February 10, 2023, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Details and Registration

Although it is estimated that 1 in 8 children see a primary care physician each year for a musculoskeletal problem, there continues to be a lack of musculoskeletal education at all stages of medical training. Although primary care providers are often the first to evaluate a child with a musculoskeletal complaint or developmental concern, their training has not always adequately prepared them to assess and treat these patients. This knowledge base is critical to allow practitioners to efficiently treat and educate patients and families by recognizing the spectrum of normal musculoskeletal development in children as well as to diagnose musculoskeletal pathology.

Join our pediatric orthopedic specialists for a complimentary, half day CME designed to help pediatric office providers get comfortable evaluating common pediatric musculoskeletal concerns.

This CME is intended for pediatricians, family medicine doctors, advanced practitioners and others who care for children and adolescents including nurses, pediatric physical and occupational therapists and residents and fellows.

Series objectives:

  • Identify normal anatomic variations in the growing skeleton
  • Effectively identify and treat common musculoskeletal injuries and problems in children and adolescents
  • Describe common musculoskeletal pathology and determine when orthopedic referral is necessary
